A Good Nights Sleep Won't Be Had In a Bad Motorcycle Sleeping Bag
Your Motorcycle Sleeping bag Just Might be the Most Important Piece of Your Motorcycle Camping Gear.
Without a good nights sleep, after pushing your cruiser motorcycle down the road for four hundred miles... the fun is gonna go out of your Motorcycle Touring trip like the air out of a leaky mattress!
Don't take that chance. Take the time to get outfitted well, before you leave.
There are so many choices to be had... that will fit into just 'bout any budget, that I'm tee total certain sure you'll find the Motorcycle Sleeping Bag that will give you... and your significant other sweet dreams...
... leastways after you work your way through all those pre-requisite 'Relationship Athletics'... for the first half of the night. :)
OK... time for a lil' tip here... There's a reason we called the things "F _ _T" Sacks in the army... Now, if you're all alone in that bag... that sweet aroma wafting up out of the neck hole of your bag, on a cool night might not be much of a problem...
... but let's get real here...
... you ain't gonna make any points with that sweet young thing you talked into ridin' with you... or that Ol' gal that's been toleratin' your 'gas' for all those years either!... if you ate 2 lbs of beans for supper! ... you just might want to exercise a lil' care in that department... if ya'll are sharin' a 'double motorcycle sleeping bag'. :)
Which brings us to the styles of motorcycle sleeping bags available...
Lot's of folks seem to be returning to motorcycling after a few years absence... Lot's have been RVing... or just dealing with living... and have a strong hunger to get back to some of the 'rose smelling' they've been missing...
... considering the condition of the world... and the 'crazies' that seem to be occupyin' a lot of it... That 'Rose Smellin'... along with the Splittin' the Wind you do on the Open Road... to get to those Roses... is a Sweet Thing! So, don't hesitate!
But, in their haste... A lot of those folks just run out and buy a bunch of gear... ride that four hundred miles... only to find out that the confines of a 'mummy' style motorcycle sleeping bag, turn them into a restless, claustrophobic, bleary eyed basket case... when they crawl out, sleepless... in the morning.
They should have picked a rectangular style bag... but just didn't do any serious cogitating about it...
So... before you buy your gear... give some thought to what you, personally need, want, and can get comfortable in...
There's three basic styles to choose from; mummy, rectangular and double bag... in many variations and qualities out there to be had... and as always... I do most of my shopping for such gear as this... at good Ol' REI.
... But just about any decent sporting goods outfit is gonna have suitable equipment for your needs.
I'm sure you've heard all sorts of talk about down versus synthetic when it comes to sleeping bags... and down is still king when it comes to absolute warmth... but ... yeah I know... But ... there is ALWAYS a BUT!
So... But!... how many of you are actually gonna be out there... Motorcycle Camping... and sleeping in a motorcycle sleeping bag... when it's say... 15 degrees? Hmmm?
Right... me too... so that 'absolute warmth' stuff is a useless argument... But ... :) ... when ya'll facter in getting wet... You've done THAT Motorcycle Touring haven't you? ... once you get wet... the synthetic sleeping bags jump way out in front of down...
You might be wet... but you'll still be WARM, if your motorcycle sleeping bag is made with synthetic insulation.
A nice thing you'll find too, is that these bags will compact down awful dang small... they come in a stuff sack... how-some-ever... you can invest in a compression sack that might let you pack the suckers down even tighter... conserving precious motorcycle packing space...
So... pick the style you need, and will be comfortable in... I strongly recommend synthetic... and go Motorcycle Camping, right?
WRONG!
You forgot something! Unless you carry sufficient built in padding to let you sleep well on hard ground, you're gonna need a sleeping pad to put that bag on. Otherwise... that purty gal is gonna be cussin' your ugly butt all night long for the rocks and lumps pokin' HER BUTT! :)
... and you can plain ol' forget about those 'Relationship Athletics'!
Not to worry... right there by the sleeping bags, when you're looking... you'll find a good selection of sleeping pads...
Just pick a nice, thick, soft one... and THEN... go motorcycle camping... with your brand new, spacious and warm... beanless... Motorcycle Sleeping Bag... on a nice, soft pad!
